Review by FC

In The Boss Parise was trying to write a fable about the mental and psychological exploitation of man in late industrial society. He tries to go beyond Marx’s formula of economic exploitation and explore the effect on a man’s heart and soul of being a cog in the machinery of capitalism. In an interview Parise himself said ‘My man-object in The Boss is no longer a tradeable item, but is already absolute property, who «morally» releases the master from the realm of business and raises him to the much more ambitious heights of theology.’
